Hi Everybody.
This is my first blog entry and is related to my company, Creative Voice Productions.
In case anyone reading this doesn't know it, I'm Rob Trygg and the website for Creative Voice is http://www.cvpaz.com, but if you forget that, you can also get there by going to http://www.creativevoiceproductions.com.
This blog is something I'm planning on doing about every two weeks to keep my friends, clients, associates, and potential clients aware of Creative Voice's ongoing activities. I'll also be providing some insight about advertising and voice work.
If you want to contact me, you can do that by e-mailing me at ____________ , or calling 480-________. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about what we do, or how you can make your advertising more effective -- whether you use our services or not.
First, let's talk about some news and how it relates to what we do and what you might want to do.
Today, two economic reports came out that should interest anyone who's in business. The number of people filing NEW claims for unemployment, went up, while what's called the "index of leading economic indicators" went up. I'm no economist. As my wife could tell you, sometimes I'm not even very good at not spending money.
But as I understand it, the economists in the country expected first-time unemployment claims to go down and they went up. If you're unemployed, that's terrible, whether you just lost your job or you've been out of work for quite a while. It's a really terrible experience.
The leading economic indicators being up, though, means that the economy's supposed to improve strongly, in the relatively short term.
Unless you or a family member is one of the unemployed, the unemployment rate won't mean a lot, because employment improves only after everything else does (because business owners don't want to hire people until business takes an upswing).
The other report, though, is really important. If the economy's improvement is just a little bit ahead, now's the time to be putting your product, service, or brand, into the brains of companies or individuals who are going to want and be able to buy what you sell, as the economy improves.
Now is exactly the WRONG time to be cutting down on your advertising budget. That said, having bad advertising is worse than having none.
Give me a call and we can talk about what makes the difference, especially in radio commercials. Radio is always present in our lives, so it's a very powerful medium for getting you or your company into someone's brain, if you advertise correctly. Don't advertise yourself as the lowest price provider, unless your name's Walmart. And please, don't do "slice of life" commercials that bore the potential customer to death.
I'll help you help them remember you by making your commercial funny and memorable. I'll talk more about that next time.
Meanwhile, let me mention some "links I like," which I'll be doing in every blog, so you can visit the sites mentioned if you want to.
http://www.tinyurl.com/MobileMillionaire is the site where a book's available on mobile home investing, and you can read part of the book, right on the website.
My friend John ___________ runs an air conditioning company and a solar installation company. He can show you how to get a quick payback on a solar system for your house or business, and you can visit his website by going to http://www.____________.
Another spot you might like is http://zazzle.com/MobileAndPeculiar. They've got tee shirts. Some of them are political and some of them have double meanings, so if either might offend you, you might want to skip this one, but it's a fun visit if you're not easily offended.
Thanks for visiting, and I'll look forward to visiting with you again, here at the blog, by phone, or through e-mail.
Rob
